Harrisdale Pavilion 2017

The Harrisdale Pavilion stands as a community hub offering a range of amenities, including multi-function rooms, a kitchen, kiosk, lobby, and general facilities. Serving both the local precinct and neighboring schools, its design was shaped by community input, emphasising attributes like durability, security, environmental sustainability, low maintenance, and intuitive design. DP(A) crafted a comprehensive design solution, elevating the pavilion to create a tiered split-level structure. With changerooms and amenities on the lower level and more welcoming spaces on the primary levels, the facility fosters a sense of community engagement. Enhanced oval activations prioritise inclusivity and accessibility. A notable design feature is the main entrance roof's extrusion, defining the building's identity and inviting users inside. The upward angle of the roof allows for expansive views while maintaining comfort and ambiance through passive solar principles.
